We recently spoke with Man of The House about the rule of matching your belt with your shoes or vice versa. There are several general rules a well-dressed man follows: Never button the bottom button of your suit or sport jacket, take your hat off indoors, match your socks to your pants--OK you know we don't agree with this one. But is it really necessary to match you shoes and you belt? Is it OK to walk around with black shoes and a brown belt? Here is a piece of or interview: "It's just one of those rules.
