The Christmas euphoria may be wearing off as the year comes to an end but some gifts are just coming into their prime. Every once in a while we like to enjoy a good drink. Dark liquor that is. This time of year is good for it. This Christmas we received an unexpected gift in the form of whiskey rocks from Top Shelf Living and a bottle of Snap ginger rye from Art in the Age.
Whiskey rocks aren't new but they certainly are useful. The idea is that these rocks keep your drink cold without watering it down as melted ice will and therefore diluting the potency of your drink. The rocks stay cold for far longer than anyone needs them to and are easily reusable. These particular rocks are made right here in the USA. A stylish way to drink we ever saw one.
The rocks will be keeping the chill in our drink with the combined tastes of Blackstrap molasses, clove, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, Rooibos tea, vanilla and pure cane sugar. We first experienced Snap in Philadelphia with our friends at Commonwealth Proper. Manufactured in Pennsylvania Dutch country Snap is an 80 proof rye whiskey that goes down smooth and stays on the chest for a while afterwards. We look forward to enjoying it on the rocks--literally and figuratively--for the rest of the winter.
