We recently had the chance to sit down with Mr. Kenny Flannigan, the brains and brawn behind the House of KAS men's and women's designer clothing label at his boutique in the picturesque National Harbor venue in Maryland.  Mr. Flannigan is a self-taught designer who draws his inspiration from his tutelage under the likes of Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) before he passed and traveling the world from Seoul to Milan, to New York, to DC and soon Montego Bay, Jamaica where he plans to open a new boutique.  KAS which stands for Kenny along with the first initials of his two daughters is an established name in the fashion community domestic and abroad.Known for his over the top fashion shows and ascot-like, wider than wide neckties, he has a flair all his own.  He has dressed male celebrities such as Trey Songz, Morris Chestnut and others.  He favors classic styles from yesteryear and cites the Ratpack, black and white films, and New York as his influences. A native New Yorker and Harlemite, Kenny is a fiery designer and stylist who's only limited by his own imagination. The house of KAS offers five lines of clothing from the affordable to the unaffordable to most of the general public.  Wide leg jeans are on display in his shop showing that he keeps up with the trends as the flare legged jeans are soon to return to prominence overtaking the the long run of skinny jeans.  Although he stays on top of the trends he does not abandon the quality and design of the classics.  Classic fabrics and standard suiting is available but all with a special twist unique to KAS.  We look forward to the upcoming lines from KAS.  Be sure to check out there anniversary show coming in July.
