I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas this year. My family had a quiet celebration with the most important factors in mind - good health, spiritual wealth, and family. This year we decided to purchase one meaningful gift for each other to show our thoughtfulness. I didn't ask for much but I did share my wish list of Amazon books including: Esquire: The Handbook of Style: A Man's Guide to Looking Good; The ABC of Men's Fashion By Hardy Amies; Details Men Style Manual: The Ultimate Guide to Making Your Wardrobe Work for You by Daniel Peres, and others. While all these books are masterfully written in their own right, there is probably one book that trumps them all. Dressing the Man: Mastering the Art of Permanent Fashion by Alan Flusser is probably the most complete and thorough guide to how man should dress from head to toe that one can pick up. This was a gift from my sister and I was ecstatic. I love reading the history behind men's clothing and where it originated, how it evolved, and where it is going. It's all there in Flusser's book. Color and contrast, odd jackets and trousers, and my personal favorite - fit and proportion. So, while I didn't receive a bundle full of gifts this year, the one I did get will give me pleasure from now until next Christmas when I'm sure I'll be asking another book on my wish list.
