My rain boots came in today. I haven't owned a quality pair since I can remember. I ordered online from Tretorn the Swedish company known for their rubber-made products and footwear. Inspired by the traditional Chelsea boot, the Stråla Vinter is functional rainwear for the city and otherwise. Waterproof. Heel tab and reflective patch. Warm boa lining and footbed. Gum rubber outsole.
I found a 30% off deal through an online sale and discount blog called The Choosy Beggar. Check them out and subscribe for periodic email sale alerts. The Tretorn shoes come in European sizes and are a bit large. This is a perfect example of ending up with a product that doesn't fit because I wasn't able to try it on before buying it. Fortunately this time it's nothing a thick pair of socks can't fix. Besides, it takes 3-4 weeks to return them and even longer to get the new ones back. I'll need to keep my feet dry and warm before then.
Two lessons learned from this purchase: 1. Every man needs a good pair of rain boots 2. Know your international size and order accordingly
