Chicago has always been a great American city.  Through the gangster and mobster years, to prohibition, to the beloved but much maligned Cubs, Chicago has always been a thriving metropolis.  Over the last several years its become home to many menswear brands bringing high end boutique brands to the man of style and substance.  Often times the Midwest gets overshadowed by the left and right coats and cities like LA and NYC.  Not today.  These menswear boutiques are growing in the city and now their influence is beginning to reach deeper and further.  Here we highlight several of the best menswear spots in Chi-town.Haberdash -  Launched in a single location in 2005 and a second in 2009 this shop carries the largest collection of Lubiam 1911 or L.B.M 1911 for short menswear in the country.  L.B.M is a long established Italian brand know for its tailoring, deep saturated colors and its use of materials to create some of the finest sport coats and jackets on the market.  Haberdash is soon to launch the "Aficionado Shop" where the full line of L.B.M jackets are now available for pre-order.  The brands carried in store are who's who of the classics like Barbour, Alden, and Bass along with modern options such as Burkman Bros, Rag & Bone, and Steven Alan.

This Fall Haberdash will launch their new project based on the Every Day Carry concept.  The EDC will carry footwear and accessories and is sure to be one of the best options in Chicago and beyond.  We'll be in town for their grand opening and will report on the happenings.

Shrine - Shrine offers high quality accessories for the man of exclusive taste.  Recently featured in The Rake --regarded in the menswear industry as the most style focused magazine in print--the shop is well on its way to glory.  Shrine stocks accessories from the every day ties, scarves and socks to the not-so-every day items like flasks and pocket watch chains. (well these may be every day items to the guys who shop at Shrine)

Sebastien Grey - We've talked about these guys before.  Check it out HERE.

Apartment Number 9 - This shop doesn't have much of an on online presence and the reviews are mixed.  Best to try it out for yourself.

Syd Jerome - One of Esquire's Gold standard shops carrying  full line of classic menswear from Armani to Zegna, Syd Jerome is a stalwart among Chicago menswear boutiques for the last 50 years.  Check out their latest online magazine and watch their 50th anniversary video.
